Masters in public health
The institute’s primary goal to launch a public health course is to develop public health capacities within the health systems.
The unique features of the course are
- Course will train a heterogeneous team of government health care providers, middle level and senior professionals from developmental and social science sector, from research institutes and non-governmental organisation
- Course will emphasize on imbibing the general principles of public health and will advocate the health systems approach
- Course will provide a platform for cross disciplinary and peer learning
- Course is based on the principles of reflective practice and actor-orientation
- Course advocates solidarity, participation, respect for autonomy and commitment to contribute to health and well-being as basic public health values

The MPH course has 5 main domains
Domain 1: Principles and practice of public health
Domain 2: Health systems
Domain 3: Health system management
Domain 4: Health policy
Domain 5: Essential skills in public health
It will be taught over 2 years and will have a blend of classroom sessions, field visits, practicals and dissertation.

Is MPH program accredited?
We are in the process of acquiring accreditation of our MPH program. We have approached nation and international accrediting bodies to accredit our program

I am from a non medical background. can I apply for the course ?
Our MPH program is open for aspirants from medical and nonmedical background. Our program is primarily aimed to train the health staff in the government health services but we do have limited seats for students from NGO sector, development and social science sector and research institutes.

Our MPH program is a full time program organised within the institute. We currently do not have distance education or online learning mode for the course.
