Is the government going to help Bharathmatha slum? i think it will never. the politicians are read to eat all the money they get in funds, but never concentrate peoples problem until next election comes. so my advice is to collect funds locally and plan to resolve issues yourself!@bose

Dear Thriveni
Admire your guts to have sat on the chair and observed what you did. And thanks for sharing it with us. How do we bring about a change is such a health service? Here in ITM they talk about patient centred care !!!!

But do we give up and say - 'nothing will change!' I hope so not. We need to develop mechanisms, strategies, ideas, thoughts to overcome these hurdles and make it easier for the patients

By the way, what happened to Leelavati? Is she okay?

A clear yet sad picture. Thanks a lot Thriveni for your courage and precision in depicting it. It obviously deconstructs illusions we might have, but not our ideals. Hopefully it also serves to make the unfair and unneeded suffering felt, including by those who day by day cause it. Would thus be useful - I think - to share it also with the observed 'service' providers, as one more grain of sand to make change come though.

Dear Thriveni,

Thank you very much for sharing this story. Its very well narrated. It leads to outrage and as Werner put it, takes away all illusions about how health care is delivered in hospitals. May be will need to use different entry points/ways to influence system.
Thanks again for sharing this.

Best regards,

Upendra

Very sad, just think.... this family went to hospital with a hope that they will bring their new family member, their happiness but........

How can these kind of negligence can be stopped...by punitive action? or orienting them again and again on value of human life?

Dear Munna
Good documentation of the process. If we add a couple of paragraphs on this approach versus confrontation, then I am sure that we can get it published in a journal. Maybe you could request Thriveni to help you. Or if you want, you can discuss it with me. Keep up the good work

Dear Jagdishji

My wife was having fever. We went to a private practiotioner who suggested for starting of Typhoid treatment. When the fever persisted and my wife complained of slight pain on right side below her lungs my friend (a medical practioner) suggested to go for TB diagnosis. i visited L. R. S. Institute of Tuberculosis and Respiratory diseases. My wife was diagnosed with extra pulmonary TB and referred for DOTS treatment.
After taking medication, her fever diminished and the lump and pain was gone.
She was diagnosed free of TB at the stop.
But one problem occured after stopping the treatment.
She has developed some swelling in front, below her lungs.

Can TB re occur after stopping the treatment or is it due to some effects of the treament she has taken for 6 months.

Regards
